There is no such thing as an antivirus software "ruling all pc's in the world." That's just plain silly. There are as many opinions as there are pieces of software.
ranking them based on their detection, resource use, scanning ability then...

there are still a lot of AV out there that do a decent job and not on this list like CA, F-prot, bitdefender, webwasher, avast, sophos, panda, etc.
I have to dissapoint you, because THERE IS NO THE BEST AV software.

but this is all relative, because if end-user doesn't download patches and latest Windows updates, no Anitivirus will help
when u ask me,i tell u that there is no best AV software yet. but there are more effective AV software either than your listed ones. i tell you that Panda Anti virus is the most inteligent software to tract down known or unknown viruses. it has also its own firewall + anti spyware that detects and eliminate spyware from your cookies which slows down your internet connection.try it to believe it
In my personal experience I have found eset nod32 to be the best anti virus software out there. It runs in real time, auto updates every time I sign online and is not a memory hog like alot of other anti virus programs out there. AVG I'd suggest to you if you want a free program...I think it's one of the better free programs out there but...MY opinion is if you want the best then get yourself a copy of eset nod32. I find this program will catch things that many other free and paid programs do not catch. Keep yourself protected. Only run one anti virus program on your computer at a time, and also run other programs such as registry mechanic, ad-aware (lavasoft). Myself personally...I also run windows washer, Advanced Disk Cleaner (you get download this for free, with free registration) and advanced uninstaller. (This program can be a huge help if you have stubborn programs that won't uninstall under windows.) There are many other programs out there and I'm sure you will come across others that will also suggest you use other programs but it has been my experience that with the use of these suggest programs, and run on a regular basis they will keep your computer running in tip top shape, virus free...and with alot more money in your pocket because you won't be one of the fools caught paying in upwards of $150+ dollars if you had to take your computer to best buy or some other retail store that fixes computers.
