Is it OK to run two antivirus softwares simultaneously?

I'm currently using Avast 4 Home Edition and NOD32 from ESET Antivirus software on NEC my laptop. Is there any conflict or will it harm or cause my laptop to slow down?

NO

2 AV will conflict with each other, stick with AVAST

You should not run 2 AV programs simultaneously. In some instances, they WILL conflict or "fight" each other for control.
No my advice would be to stick with Avast anti-virus and only stick with one product at a time to avoid conflicts and prevent resource problems
Absolutely not!

They will get in each other's way and you will have "issues". Take one off and just run with one. Yes - lots of slowdowns. They might even detect that the other is a virus and do quarantine work.
#1 question..WHY? If you don't trsut one, use the other. If you don't trsut either, use a different one. I cannot see any logical reason, why you would want to do it
Only use one anti-virus product. Running more than one can cause conflicts thus rendering each ineffective.

You probably want Norton Antirvirus, great virus protection. Check it out
It wont slow down, but it will probably run into some problems, or skip over some files. you should always go with 1 antivirus, 1 antispam, 1 firewall.
You don't need 2 AV's - Nod32 is far better than Avast 4 Home Edition so delete Avast 4 Home Edition %26 your computer will speed up.
