Is there something else I can do about all the ads that pop up on my computer?

I have tried running AVG7.0 AVG spyware sweeper, avast anti virus, and ad-aware. Nothing seems to be helping this problem. Although it has helped its not completely gone and my computer is running much slower.

Ok this is only if ads are popping up during your internet experience cos maybe i have a good AV or something but i havent heard of ads popping up during an offline venture.

Install an Add-On called No-script(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...

From then on whenever you visit a website which runs script(these are the ones which cause all those non-required ads and pop-ups and a few flash).

On the bottom right corner ull see an S with a cross over it ,click on it and allow only the main website to run scripts ,

for eg,(in yahoo allow only yahoo.com,and yimg.com) to run scripts and nothing else.

b)if the trouble exits when ur offline , once any ad pops up hold down ctrl+alt+del,and check which processess are running,if any process resembles the popup or is suspecious , then note down that .exe name run a search and delete that file :D.
