Hi everyone. My nephews laptop is so slow it's unbeleivable.
I have put Ccleaner on it and i have done various clean-ups, including disc clean-up, i do defrag every so often, but i don't think that is enough. He has Avast anti-virus on it at the mo.
Personally i think it's the amount of stuff thats on the computer, loads of chat room sites etc etc, he even has BITLORD on it and he downloads stuff. I try to go on the C drive to see if he has stuff stored in there but it wont allow me to go in for some reason. I really need to know what other programmes i can put on to clean his computer up because i am at my witts end with him.

Ps. I also think he may have adware running in the background and he also leaves things running in the background, chat rooms are popping up all over the place...

You mention adding more programmes to clean up his computer. Well by adding more programmes you are only going to make matters worse because they are going to take up even more space on the hard disc. You should concentrate on getting rid of stuff that is already on there, not adding to it. You just have to be ruthless and go through and find stuff that is not necessary and delete it. The only other option would be to add more memory, either internally or by getting an external USB hard drive.
