Did i do the right thing by downloading "avg?

i'm not sure about these things so could someone tell me if i did the right thing by downloading avg internet security. you see, i had norton internet security for a few months and it worked good, but lately it would not let me go to the internet unless i dissabled it.it was annoyng so i took it off my computer completely. then i tried "avast", that would'nt allow me to go to the internet either. so in desperation i tried "avg".i can now go to ie6 with no problem. but i'd like to know is "avg" a good internet security program or can i look falward to problems with it also. i have windowsxp prof. and i have the free trial version of "avg". is it good or not? thanks for all answers.

You should be very confident as AVG is very good and I have never had any virus while using it. If you want to make yourself even more secure you could download Cyberhawk this is another freebie and it works in a different way to protect you against virus's etc by notifying you with an alert if anything is trying to attach itself to your computer you can safely use this together with AVG as it is a completely different kind of virus protection, I feel more secure with this on as well as AVG!

Hope that helps.

Try http://tipsfromruby-internetsecurity.blo... for further help to keep your computer protected with regular virus protection and other related updates and news .
AVG isn't a trial or anything, it is basically free. And yes, it's a good program. It goes a little virus-happy over keygens if you are into downloading torrents, but, overall, it is a very good anti-virus program.

And, by the way, you should really upgrade to Internet Explorer 7. It is much easier to use than 6. :)
it is a very good program...I deleted norton and loaded AVG....good luck
