Sometimes when I first start Internet Explorer 7 I will start it up and it goes to my home page but another window opens going to an ad site (poker, dating, etc) I have run Avast antivirus and an adware destroy thing. Whats happening?

It's a little thing that I like to call a "pop-up".

Advance to the Mozilla Firefox browser, instead of using Internet Explorer - no pop-ups, and less chances of getting viruses.

in general Avast is not antispyware. I recommend you use SuperAntispyware Free edition to remove the issues. Spybot is not great because it does not detect all items...Mozilla firefox is a great free browser. Popups can be stopped with the Yahoo toolbar with IE..it does a heck of a job stopping them
