What would be a good program to remove a virus/worm that has embedded itself into my internet explorer, firefox, and any other web browser I use(it spreads only among web browser). I have used avast antivirus and superad blocker with no luck. Please help. 10 points will be given to the one who tells me something that gets rid of it and it works.

Try to boot in safe mode, then go to start run, type msconfig, in the startup tab look for the virus name in the list and uncheck it if found. Go back to the start menu, and go to run, then type regedit then hit enter, in the window that opens select find from the edit drop down menu and do a couple different searches with variations of the virus name, remove any registry entries you find. Before you do this make sure you are certain that it is an invalid entry. Also go to www.download.com and download, spybot search and destroy, adaware personal SE from lavasoft and spywareblaster from java cool software. Once downloaded and updated run all three and remove any entries found (all these products are free by the way). You should also run whatever antivirus program you have to see if it detects your virus. I know symantec's website used to have a free scanning tool available on their website, you can try that, since your local antivirus tool may already be compromised. Hope that helps.
