i know i dont run 2 firewalls at once i only run comodo also why

would windows say there is no anti virus when clearly avast is on.

Make sure that you have the updates in the AV.... Even though it is installed, windows will still say that when the AV doesn't have the current virus definitions....
Windows might not recognize Avast as your antivirus program. Go into your security settings and tell it that you have your own antivirus program that you will monitor. That will deal with that portion of your questioning. as far as Running 2 firewalls at once. it can be done. I've done it. It's tricky as hell though.
It does that to me too. I just keep ignoring it.

I *think* what's happening is that it doesn't recognize the program as an anitvirus program. If you have avast, you're okay and don't worry about the messages.
