How do you delete a read-only file?

I have a program that is a dialer on my computer. Windows Defender, AVG Free, Spybot S%26D, Avast (No longer on my computer) Yahoo Antispy or Norton from Yahoo will not delete this program. I can manulyy access the properties but access is denied to do anything. It is a read-only file. The program path is C:\Program Files\Instant Access\ Please send me an IM fletcherfarrarii@yahoo

Start in safe mode with networking by pressing F8 during the boot. Then update your spyware and virus software and scan again. Then got to Internet Explorer and delete all cookies, there may be a cookie which will re-generate the problem. After this go to Instant access folder and delete it's contents.

If you right click it can you rename it? If you can rename it and reboot it then delete it.

Either that or boot in safe mode and run your scanner again, you can't delete it because it's loading at boot-up - so in safe mode it shouldn't get started up.

Hope this helps.

cheers

You need to get Brute Force Uninstaller and a script to uninstall InstantAccess. Read about how to do that here:

And download the script from here:

Its a programmin thing we do so people cant change critical files and screw up the program either leave it or use 'reg cleaner' or format your machine
Right click the file, click properties. Uncheck "read only".

If that does not work it means that you are not logged in to an administrator account. If this is the case do so and repeat.
