AVG security out of date?

i recently downloaded AVG security, the free download. and its been a couple of weeks, and now its saying its out of date? how do i update it without having to pay for anything?

should i get avast instead, or will that do the same thing to me?

As far as I know, you have to get the full version to update it. But that's why its free.

avg/grisoft in their infinite wisdom is doing this to everybody who has version 7.5 they r making u go to version 8.0 can't remember from waht i read if it' has 2 b paid though...sorry...if u r going 2 get avast get version 4.8 which includes free antispyware as well

i prefer avira free which has better detection rates and an easier to use interface avg has really poordetection/removal rates u r better off w/ out it
you just tell it to go to the website and update itself

I have it check daily -- it is still free =]
