Silent Spyware?

Is it possible for a person to have spyware on his computer with no symptoms? No passwords, credit card numbers, or anything else, so far as I know, have been compromised? Is there cause for concern? I have Avast! and Windows Defender b4 i hooked to the net and all xp updates.

anything is possible, usually spyware/trojans that compromise personal info are designed to bypass any antivirus/firewall/antispyware...they are designed by highly sophisticated programmers(criminals) so it doesn't really matter what you have... there are always ways around anything... never keep any personal/financial info on your computer if it's connected to internet/network...and don't use your bank account via internet..and that's all, you'll have nothing to worry about...

Install as many free anti spyware applications as u can.Unlike antivirus and firewall, antispyware apps can work together.

Sure. The most effective Spyware would be silent. The first thing I would try is Microsoft Windows Defender. This is a free tool from Microsoft and I find it highly effective. You can find it here...
