In fact there is such a site Jason. Shields Up! by GRC is a free service which will attempt to probe your computer for weaknesses. This tests your firewall and router configuration in the same way a hacker would, looking for weaknesses which can be exploited.

There's nothing to download, and the results are explained quite clearly along with advice on how to rectify any problems.

For most home and work computers, the result you're looking for is "stealthed", meaning that your computer is completely invisible to anyone who randomly probes your internet address and does not respond to any kind of unsolicited requests.

If you're looking for great personal firewall software, I strongly recommend ZoneAlarm from CheckPoint software. The website does try to steer you towards the paid version, however if you dig around you'll find the free version, which is fully functional. The software is for Windows 2000 and XP, and if you're using XP you'll need to disable the in-built Windows Firewall software that comes bundled with the operating system. Not sure if a Vista version is available yet.

I hope this helps.

Mark
Remove what you have and install AVG 7.5 Ad-Aware,Zone Alarm,WinPatrol, all have free versions.I had them for years and all either prevent it or catch it...
