EASY 10 POINTS! LAPTOP PROBLEMS. PLEASE Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Why is it that my laptop is so slow to load? I bought it brand new about 5 months ago. Its an IBM ThinkPad Lenovo R60. Is it slow because of the Windows Vista (Business) software. When i click on an icon to open a program it takes ages to load even freezes. Also when im online it will just freeze up for a while and then you know come back to life. Needless to say Its very frustrating! And theres 36.2GB freespace on its 69.5GB C Drive. Any suggestions should i get rid of the Vista??? I've even scanned it with Avast 4.8 but still no difference?? How can i solve this laptops problem???

Personally I do not like Vista at all. It makes even high end computers run terrible, due to the fact that that operating system is a resource hog. Seems to me like you have a lot of data on the hard drive. I would first recommend running Disk Defragmenter. This might help once all the data on the hard drive is better optimized. If you do not know how to run this, then double click my computer. Then right click your main hard drive and select properties. From there choose the menu tools and click on the option defragmenter now. You also might have unnecessary programs installed and running in the background. To get rid of these program simply go to add/remove programs and delete recently programs you downloaded that you do not use. At the end, if you are truly tired of vista. I would backup all important information to either a media such as a DVD, cd or flash disk. Then purchase windows xp and do a complete format. Vista blows!
