How do I get rid of an Email Bot virus?

I get emails, like 20 to 30 a day with different email addresses, but they all start with DWS. And I've gotten messages on a couple of websites statying that I've been blocked due to installed Malware or Bots. I have Avast! Antivirus installed, and Spybot S%26D. I also use Firefox. Everything is up to date, yet no virus is found. I refuse to pay for a license for Norton or anything like that, because I honestly believe they create half of the viruses out there to ramp up business. Aside from a format and reinstall of Windows, anything that can be done without costing money?

run trinity rescue kit. its run outside of windows and tends to find stuff much better then anything windows. download the iso file and burn it with magiciso.

once done, restart computer and boot through the cd. after cd loads completely, run one of these commands:

trkhelp or helptrk... i forget and that has a guide with it.

the virus scan code is:

virusscan -a avg

however you recieveing the emails means they are sending them to you. you might just be having your email address spoofed and your address in general is blocked. not certian way to know that and if someone is spoofing your email not a lot you can do either. but trk should be able to handel all of your virus needs.

the problem with using a mcaffee or norton while the computer is already infected is it just chases its tail around. it will never get it fully off. those are to good to prevent the infection, but not to get rid of it. viruses are self replicating. when you delete one they make more and put them where you have already scanned. so the only option is to run a virus scanner outside of windows to stop the problem so they cant replicate. hence trk which is a linux based program. plus with norton and such, it slows your computer down just as much as a virus because of all the resources it takes to run it.
