I recently had a virus and am now running a scan with Norton it's already found over 20 intrusions and i want to be sure i get them all so can someone please suggest a top quality free anti-virus software?

Try ESET NOD32 or Kaspersky. They haev higher detection rates and much lower false alarms than any free software available.
