Windows Defender?

Hi, this is my security specifications:

Avast! anti-virus

ad-aware SE personal

Windows Defender

i was just wondering, is windows defender good, because it doesn't remove the bad tracking cookies. I used to have AVG anti-spyware but the trial expired. Then Somebody told me to use Windows Defender, it works but is it an ok anti-spyware program? I've heard of spybot search and destroy but it won't remove some spyware.

So just Wondering again is windows Defender good?

best answer will be chosen.

Windows Defender is fair at scanning and removing spyware. But it does have real-time resident protection to PREVENT malware which is extremly rare in a free anti-spyware app. IMHO, for the price, Defender is a keeper.

If what you are most concerned about is Defenders lack of tracking cookie detection and removal capability, you can relax!!!!

Cookies are just small .txt (text) files that by themselves cannot hurt your computer. Cookies are "set" by almost every web-site that you visit, on every visit. You can delete all your cookies today and by tomorrow you will have dozens again just be visiting web-sites.

Cookies do not slow down a computer, at least the first million or so that you might have on your computer!

They are not a virus or spyware, BUT some people consider "tracking" cookies to be an invasion of privacy.
