What about McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0?

Has anyone experience with that antivirus program? Is it any good? How it goes comparing to AVG, Avast and other free downloads? Please advise, can I rely on it?

Mcfee slows down your computer much more than AVG will ever. It been well know that it's been to turn faster computers into slow computer. It will cost you at least $30 with savings according Mcfee website. Even though it's a good virus killer, many people think that AVG is much better and I tend to agree. You could save at least $30 by using a combination of programs. My personal favorite is AVG for it's real time protection and for the ability to create boot disks. It is also has scheduled scans or updates automatically as well. My other one that I use is Personal Ad-Aware SE, which has the best virus killing ability than even Mcfee. In combination with these others, I use Zone alarm firewall which is free and prevents viruses all together. With AVG, Zone alarm, and Ad-Aware, you could have a best bet of having no viruses on your computers. I also suggest that you get firefox as well because it more secure than Internet Explorer and you can easily delete cookies when you leave the program. See download.com for more details.

2 antivirus programs running simultaneously can interfere with each other. So, try uninstalling one of them and trying again.

sounds like a security setting.

2 Questions?

Ok as I stated in previous questions, I had a trojan, I went in Safe Mode, and used www.trojanhunter.com. All it could dig up was minor adware by Morpheus. Which I doubt was making my computer freeze all the time. So, my first question is, since my Dell came with Norton Ghost, should I go back to a time everything worked, or use it's other feature, which takes you back all the way to the day you started?

Second question

Which is better, AVG or Avast!

The best Trojan removing program is ewido. I recommend you use both these programs and the procedure. After the removal procedure is additional infor about Antivirus programs.

Download and Update Ewido (now called the AVG Antispyware). Do not run:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Download AdAware SE and update. Do the setup. Do not run:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ad-awa...

AdAware SE Setup:

1. Select "use custom scanning options" then select "customize". Make sure the following options are enabled: "scan within archives," "scan active processes," "scan registry," "deep scan registry," "scan my IE favorites for banned URLs," "scan my Hosts file."

2. Select the "tweak" option. Under "scanning engine," make sure "unload recognized processes and modules during scan" is enabled. Enable "scan registry for all users instead of current users."

How can i quickly and safely remove the auto run Trojan/virus?

If you delete this virus through antivirus software such as Avast, it re-appears in the root of C drive after a minute, if left unattended, it starts affecting (fading) the monitor. It immediately copies about 6 files into the root of any removable disk as autorun.* Is there a way without buying software? Such as freeware or shareware?

Threatfire Antivirus Free Edition?

Ditto what Jibbar ^ said ^.

But you misunderstood that graph on the Threatfire site; it wasn't saying that Threatfire is *that much better* than those other programs... it was saying that those other programs are that much better *with Threatfire added*.

And thank you :-) Report It

rofl it is so not better than trend.

Trend is a hog

but it defends better than threatfire, whatever that is

besides whos "they"

if its the company

they always say that

that's how they sell.
It was formerly named CyberHawk and is a top product. I've never used it, but, if Castlecops recommends it, you can trust it works well.

---

Use protection,

your computer will thank you.
It is not a tradition signature based anti-virus and is not intended to be a replacement for one. Threatfire should be used in ADDITION to a regular anti-virus to (hopefully) detect brand new zero-day threats which an anti-virus does not yet have a signature for yet , so it can not detect it yet.

Threatfire works by detecting unusual virus-like behavior, Not be matching a files "fingerprint" to a long list of infected files.

Threatfire is good at what it does, but don't un-install your regular protection.
It gets great reviews from critics. Better than the others? Hard to say, but it's at least as good. I have not used it, but have heard nothing bad about it either.
Threatfire is a companion to anti-virus. So install threatfire and an anti-virus program.

PCTools products do get good reviews. The good thing is they have free versions of their products. They work great. Spyware Doctor from the Google pack is a must. I highly recommend it. I bought Webroots Spysweeper and spyware doctor finds stuff spysweeper does not. Having both is a perfect combo and I recommend running two anti-spyware products.
